In this morning’s Irish Independent, ACOI CEO, Michael Kavanagh comments on the senior executive accountability regime (SEAR), forthcoming in the Central Bank (Individual Accountability) Bill.

“Individual senior managers or board directors can no longer fully rely on guidance from their employer as they will be personally responsible regardless of what their employer may have directed or advised.”

There are many issues to be worked out with the proposed law, chief among them how to “balance the rights of the individual with the desire of a company to limit any reputational damage”.
